1967 Hagstrom 8-String Bass! Signed by Noel Redding! Here is a very cool-looking Hagstrom 8-String Bass, identical to the ones used by Jimi Hendrix and Noel Redding, in cherry finish. Same year, same look, same sound! “Spanish Castle Magic”, anyone? What makes it just a little different from the few out there, is I got Noel Redding to sign this one’s pick guard in silver pen, in 1999, in person, at his home in Ireland, when I was out visiting and buying gear from him (his original Hagstrom was long-since sold at auction by then, as was Jimi’s). So there you go – possibly the only, that is the ONLY, Hagstrom 8-String Bass to bear Noel’s signature, although it was never his bass, and he did NOT play it! Also check out Jimi Hendrix giving his 8-string a funky workout on the “Get That Feeling” New York sessions. Great basses for a power trio, they fill in so much of the space, like having unison guitar/bass riffs! Switches and pots are a little crackly due to not being used, and the two pickups are fine, the back cover of one tuner is missing, but does not affect anything, and the bass is 100% original. Why pay big money for one without Noel’s autograph, when you can pay big money for one WITH his autograph? Would look great in a display case, or on a studio wall! Rocking!! God Bless Noel!! He was a lovely bloke.
